Modern Slavery Policy
Modern Slavery is a crime and a violation of human rights. We are committed to enforcing and working in an environment that is free from child and forced labour and human trafficking in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It is a criminal offence to engage in modern slavery where individuals can be imprisoned. We will not knowingly deal with businesses that employ children or forced labour.
Who is responsible for this policy:
The Board of Directors has overall responsibility for ensuring that the policy complies with our obligations. Daily, the responsibility lies with the Compliance Manager who is responsible for ensuring that we and third parties comply with the policy and that it remains effective.
Our promise is that:
- We will not use forced or involuntary labour.
- We have a zero-tolerance approach to child and forced labour.
- We will always comply with the minimum age applicable by law.
- We will compensate workers with the wage and benefits that meet or exceed the requirement and pay the overtime pay requirements.
- We will ensure that our employees and third parties abide by the maximum daily working hours.
- We will not knowingly work with any third party that does not abide by these rules and laws, and we will ensure that they certify they are compliant, and we will audit annually.
- We will review this policy on an annual basis to ensure it remains up to date with any changes in laws and legislation.
You are encouraged to raise concern should you suspect any signs of modern slavery. You should immediately report to your Line Manager or report in accordance with the Whistle Blowing Policy. An investigation will take place within a reasonable timeframe, and appropriate actions will take place.
We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and will terminate any relationship should this policy be breached.
Likewise, should any employee breach this policy they will face disciplinary action which may result in termination of employment.
